Madi is continuing to do great with her physical therapy. She no longer has Torticollis! Her head tilt is 3 degrees and normal range is 5 degrees or less. She also has full range of motion now! Pretty impressive for 10 weeks of therapy. We'll still need to keep up with the stretches and tummy time because she could regress. Expecially if she were to get sick because kids that have had Torticollis tend to hold their head in the "slumped" position when they aren't feeling well.
Now that we have crossed that off our list, we have shifted our focus on making sure she hits all of the critical milestones. Our pediatrician said that Madi has far too much potential so we can not give her the opportunity to fall behind. She's doing great in most areas but has a bit of delay with her coordination and that is consistent with the area of her brain affected from her stroke. These are very minor delays and now that we have some exercises to work on she's already improving...and it's only been 5 days. So until further notice we have physcial therapy appointments twice a week and continued therapy exercises at home during her wakeful times. It is work, let me tell but I don't mind doing it because she needs it and it's exciting to see her master new things. She's quite an extraordinary kid. She has to work so much harder than the average kid to acheive her milestones but she works on it little by little each day with very little fussing. Her therapist and team of doctors can't get over how strong she is for her age. She even sat up on her own today for about 20 seconds at today's appointment. Pretty impressive for 4 1/2 months! Her therapist said that Madi will be sporting a 6-pack by her first birthday.
So in summary, she's an amazing kid and has a bright future!
***Also Madi is taking her last dose of anti-seizure meds tonight. I'm nervous! Please pray that she continues to be seizure free***

Great news Shay's! Keep it up Madi!
